The MIPS Air technology is integrated into the padding of the helmet and enables the 10-15mm of relative movement between the energy absorbing layer and the padding. The relative movement of the MIPS Air is enabled by a backing of polycarbonate PC with a special low friction treatment, which is held by specially designed fixations, enabling movement in all directions.What makes the MIPS Air system even more incredible is that not only is it the lightest version of this safety system ever designed, it is integrated into the helmets padding and designed to fit each specific helmet and size.
